This week, all new episodes of Yo Gabba Gabba have been airing. Today was the episode with musical guests Of Montreal. So awesome, because now I can finally tell the world that I got to go watch the taping of this back in August! They like to keep things super secret over at the Gabs, so my lips were sealed until the show aired.
How cool is this? My buddy Parker showed me the pages from the storyboard of the Of Montreal segment.
Now, check out the video over at stereogum to see how it all came together!
Fun fact #1: The band really got dressed up to play the banana, rice, apple, and toast characters, and the other part of the band, along with some of their friends/family members dressed up as the germs! They really got into it.
Fun fact #2: The reason the camera is covered with plastic in the last picture is because the final shot was of Mr. Apple shooting apple sauce out of a hose. It must not have come out right on camera, because it didn't make it into the final cut.
Here's another cool video of the band doing an acoustic version of "For Our Elegant Caste". I LOVE the way their songs sound when they are stripped down like this!
