Salt and pepper marshmallows
When Blackmarket Bakery posted on it's Facebook page that they would be making salt and pepper marshmallows, I was intrigued. Luckily, I work just about a mile and a half away from them, and they open early, so I stopped by on my way to work to pick of up a bag of these little weirdos. The verdict? Interesting. Good. Fluffy. Peppery.
They were so interesting, in fact, that almost every single one of my coworkers tried them. I'm always the one who brings in the weird stuff for people to try, and maybe one or two people are brave enough. But everyone in the office wanted to see what these were like. Opinions were mixed.
I'm not sure what occasion calls for salt and pepper marshmallows – they are too sweet to be savory and too savory to be sweet! But... I am strangely drawn to them. I will be racking my brain trying to think of something to do with these, besides just snacking on them. Any ideas?
Update: I brought the leftover marshmallows home to Kyle, and he really liked them!

Vintage Barware
Set of Libbey carousel animal glasses, via Bliss & Vinegar vintage shop.
Vintage barware is one of my favorite things to browse when I'm at an antique store or flea market. There are so many unique, colorful, and playful illustrations and patterns. I especially love when they come in a little carrying caddy. Lucky for us and our bank account, having an almost 2-year old means there aren't very many cocktail parties going on at Xanadu (ah who am I kidding, I'd go to bed at 10 and watch Seinfeld every night with or without the little one). But it sure is fun to look. Actually, the only set of vintage barware I do own happens to be one of these Libbey carousel animal sets shown above. I guess if you're going to own one set, that's a pretty rad one to own. Here are some more neat ones I found on etsy.
Russel Wright "Eclipse" glasses, via The Frabjous Day.
Gold pattern cocktail glass set, via Object of Beauty.
Cats! Via Squaresville, USA.
An interesting pattern, via Vintage Harbor.
Circus glasses, via Found Shop.
Numbers set, via Viva Estelle.
