Colorful and Eclectic

I just can't tear myself away from eclectic, colorful rooms. Here are some spaces I love that layer color and pattern in a unique way that feels fun, but still grown up.

Bri Emery's living room, designed by Emily Henderson and photographed by Laure Joliet. I love how bright and eclectic it is. I just love everything Emily Henderson does, and I secretly keep an eye out for her when we go to the flea market because I am a huge dork. Not a big fan of the fiddle leaf fig tree, but I have seen them popping up in a lot of spaces.

This piece by Bend Seating could be an occassional table, an ottoman, or a drum stool, and I love it with that rug. Photo via Nannie Inez.

This bedroom (via Desire To Inspire) is adorable.

Love this cute little corner, via A Beautiful Mess. The original post is for a hand woven rug DIY.

Pigment in San Diego

I visited the cutest shop over the weekend down in San Diego. It's called Pigment and it was like walking into a Pinterest board where everything is for sale! Pigment carries housewares and home d├ęcor items from brands like Ferm Living and Jonathan Adler, paper supplies like greeting cards from Rifle Paper Co and adorable wrapping papers, gourmet food items such as honey from Bee Local in Portland, Mast Brothers chocolate bars, and Noble maple syrup, cook books, art books, candles, Baggu bags, and on and on. Plus the coolest DIY terrarium section with every kind of vessel you can imagine, every color of sand and stone sold by the bag, and a large variety of air plants and succulents. Basically, I was in heaven.

Pigment is located at:
3827 30th St San Diego, CA 92104

Drops Print Featured On...

My drops print was recently featured on DesignLoveFest as one of the items in the amazing goodie bags Bri and Angela make for their Blogshop students. (Photo above via DesignLoveFest.) It also recently got some love over at HGTV's blog Design Happens as part of a Nautical-themed nursery mood board. I love HGTV so I was honored to get a mention on their blog!

I love that this print has sort of "taken off" because it started out as me just playing around with different color combinations and stuff for fun. It's different than other prints I sell in my shop, but I liked the way it turned out, and especially loved the way it printed. So I decided to put it up and see what happens. I've now sold more of these than any of my other prints!

The print is available in my Etsy shop in 5x7 and 8x10 sizes.

A sunny weekend.

Confession: I have been using Zoey's old baby spoons as condiment spoons when I put out cheese plates, or whatever else might require a tiny spoon. I finally upgraded to these condiment spoons (only 95 cents each!) and olivewood spreaders from Crate & Barrel.

Tried a couple of new-to-me cheeses. A Spanish goat's milk cheese called Garrotxa (firm and creamy), and a Welsh blue cheese called Perl Las (strong and creamy, yet crumbly).

We had a fun family day at The OC Mart Mix over the weekend. Kyle hung out in the tiniest record shop while Zoey and I got manicures at Lollipop. Lollipop uses all natural stuff, and they have water-based nail polishes for kids. Zoey's nail polish only lasted a couple days, but the experience was worth it.
