The 3 images above are from Emily Henderson. I know I've gushed about her before, but again - I just love the way she can make a space look a) completely put together down to every last detail; b) somehow manages to make a cohesive look out of the most seemingly random flea market finds, and by mixing prints and colors in unexpected ways; and the most important reason I love her work - c) it looks completely and totally lived in and comfortable. Her spaces are so put together, but never fussy. The room at the top looks completely put together, but I also feel like I could flop down on that couch and put my feet on that table. That's exactly what I want my own space to feel like. I want someone to come in and feel like I put a lot of love into it, but that they can lay on my rug, or eat on my couch.
The following rooms are from various sources, but they still have that put-together-but-totally-liveable feel.

Last weekend I visited the cutest little place with the coolest bunch of people. I got an email from Michelle who runs Sourced, inviting me to come check out their space at the open house event they do called Saturday Vibes. Sourced is a retail space in the front, with workspaces in the back. The idea is that creatives who are working for themselves can have a place they can go where they can still leverage off the energy of other creatives - something that I know would be sorely missed if one were to go out on their own.
The front of the building is a beautifully curated retail space shared by ReDeux Studio, Macalistaire Vintage, and Sourced's own co-op. With both vintage and new items throughout, there is something to see on every shelf and in every corner.
Michelle Mercado, pictured above, started out wanting a space for event planning business. As she started renting out spaces, her passion shifted to supporting creatives and small businesses. She still runs her event business while putting a lot of love into Sourced.
The two photos above show some of the workspaces. Sourced offices are shared by interior designers, graphic designers, floral designers, photographers, and more.
I am so glad I went to check it out. Everyone there was so friendly. We talked about the Serial podcast with Rachiel (Macalistaire Vintage) and tried on her vintage housecoats, had our photos taken in the photo booth, got the grand tour from Michelle, and just "talked shop" as designers. I hope to work with them in some way in the future, and to attend one of their creative workshops. Thanks Sourced!
Sourced is located at 930 Glenneyre Street in Laguna Beach.

I love these colorful crocheted shoes by Painted Bird. Even better is that they are based in Laguna Beach, so they are local! These shoes really speak to my dream of hanging out on my back patio, wearing a vintage kaftan and serving fancy drinks to my friends. They are casual and slipper-like, but still totally cool and stylish. That last pair is like a Moroccan rug for your feet.
