Snapshots

Kyle and I went out on a day date to The Anaheim Packing House for lunch at Adya. We just love that place, and we end up ordering so much food and sharing it all.

I ended up ordering a pair of these knit shoes. They are so pretty, I don't want to wear them out! So I keep them around as house shoes, if I need to run outside real quick or do something in the garage.

My friend Shanon and I took a screen printing workshop at Heritage in Costa Mesa. Heritage sells jewelry, candles, fancy honey and jams, paper goods, perfumes, books, and more. It is the perfect place to buy a gift. The screen printing class was good for figuring out the basics, since I had never done it before. I didn't realize it was so easy. I think the hard part is just having all the equipment and the space to do it.

As you may or may not know, Kyle and I have "Burger Friday" every week to have something to look forward to and to kick off our weekend. I started doing "Cocktail Saturday" because I am constantly pinning fun cocktail recipes, but I am way too tired during the week to enjoy drinking. I literally have to schedule time to drink (insert laughing emoji).

Sometimes my Saturday night cocktail looks like the picture above - a lavender paloma all decked out in a fancy glass on my patio. I took a few extra minutes to make lavender simple syrup the night before, in preparation of my Saturday night cocktail.

And sometimes Cocktail Saturday just isn’t as pretty. We were having some bed time woes for a couple of weeks with wake ups or just plain not going to sleep. I am assuming some sort of brain growth spurt was happening. She doesn’t have very many monster moments (we have been very lucky), but when she does it always seems like a week later she is using new words and phrases and cracking us up. Either way, Cocktail Saturday must go on.

A mural in Downtown Fullerton, across from the Fullerton Museum Center. We went to the Fullerton Museum Center to see Heroes & Villains: The Comic Book Art of Alex Ross (one of Kyle's favorite comic book artists). We had no idea that museum was there, and that they have had some really legit shows there! And the gift shop had some surprisingly cool items.

We made an afternoon of it, eating lunch at Kentro Greek Kitchen, and visiting the Oh Hello Friend shop. That shop is rad. I went to it when Danni first opened it, and it was cute and reminded me of her craft fair booths. But it has really grown into something awesome. She now carries so many familiar brands, like Rifle Paper Co and Orla Kiely. The shop was poppin' off, with easily a dozen people inside. I bought a bunch of paper goods and a candle. You go, girl.

A juice flight! What a great idea! I stopped by Juice Served Here one evening after work and overheard the girl working there telling another customer about their juice flight. It's a great way to taste a lot of their juices, and it's totally affordable (cheaper than actually buying a juice, but about the same amount of ounces you would get in a bottle). Their juice called Cream Party is one of the best things I've ever tasted.
